On our third and final day of our journey to reach California, we set out from Elko, NV for the final 450 miles of our trip. The weather was once again very good. Coupled with being the shortest distance of all 3 days, it was a very enjoyable drive, but we were definitely ready to be done driving. We traversed quite a few passes on I-80 through Nevada and California, with the tallest one near Truckee, CA but the van handled each of them great. Abigail did a great job the whole 2,000 miles following in the truck, helping make sure I could change lanes when needed, keeping an eye on all of the tires, helping scout out the next travel station and providing comedic relief over the radio. We had ourselves a convoy! Fortunately, we never made an unscheduled stop the entire duration of the trip. We arrived at our spot and got settled and then met our friends Kayla and Jarrod for a much needed dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. This picture was taken yesterday just a couple miles down the road from where we live, overlooking Lime Saddle Park and the West Fork of the Feather River.
