We woke up in Casper, WY to a cool morning; we didn’t think we’d need to grab more blankets for the bed in June. After having breakfast, we set off south out of Casper on state highway 220. Even though it is a popular truck route, there were plenty of passing lanes and the road surface was in good condition. A few hours later, after weaving back and forth across the continental divide, we were westbound on I-80. Weather conditions were much better; we had clear skies and no wind for the entire 639 miles. We reached Salt Lake City around 2:30p and the afternoon was quite warm, so we stopped for a few hours to rest up a bit and started west again around 7pm. The evening sunset over the mountains was one you’ll never see in the midwest. Today we set out for our final destination, which is another 448 miles to the west in Paradise, CA. We’re looking forward to getting into the forests of Northern California and getting setup in our spot this evening.
